Things To Do.
Sacre Cœur/Montmartre - Amazing views, up in Pigalle near Moulin Rouge, etc.
Jardins du Luxembourg – One of many beautiful public parks. Great for people watching.
Places des Vosges – Again, my favorite spot in Paris. A lot of history here. Great place to hang and have a picnic.
Hotel de Sully – Right off the Places des Vosges. A government building with a really pretty garden to walk through. Closed on Sundays and gov’t holidays.
Saint Chapelle – A must. Really amazing chapel with the most incredible stained glass. Make a reservation online before you go to skip the line.
Notre Dame – Can’t not include it on this list, even though I’m sure it’s still closed off for repairs.
The Louvre – A standard. Lots of old art and sculpture. You can spend an entire weekend here, so be strategic and set aside plenty of time.
Musee d’Orsay - TONS of amazing big-time impressionist paintings. Smaller/more digestible than the Louvre and much more interesting. Book your ticket online.
Palace of Versailles – Very worth the 40 minute train ride. Buy tickets ahead of time or get a guided tour – the lines can be insane. The RER C train runs through Paris along the Seine and ends at Versailles, so it’s easy to manage. Just make sure you buy specific tickets for this route – you’ll be fined when you arrive if you use a standard ticket.
Jardins du Versailles – Stop at the farmers market in the town of Versailles and get wine/cheese/fruit and have a picnic near the channel. There are also a number of restaurants and food kiosks in the gardens that you can buy from too.
Merci – Huge, well curated and designed home goods store.
